Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on engineering leadership across multiple squads (30–70+ engineers): code, design and drive technical direction.
- Partner with Engineering Directors and Product/Design to define strategy, roadmaps and high-impact trade-offs.
- Lead architecture and design for complex, scalable, reliable systems; align local decisions with company-wide strategy.
- Mobilize teams, create clarity and momentum, and uphold high standards for technical excellence and reliability.
- Mentor and grow senior engineers and future leaders, improving engineering capability across the collective.

Requirements:
- Proven track record leading complex, high-impact systems and shaping technical direction across multiple teams.
- Strong hands-on coding, system design and architecture skills; experience with distributed systems and data-intensive platforms.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders, operate in ambiguity and make pragmatic product-focused trade-offs.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and setting engineering quality standards.
- Familiarity with cloud, container orchestration and backend tooling (Go, Kafka, Cassandra, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP) is beneficial.
