Responsibilities:
- Architect, operate and improve scalable, secure database infrastructure that supports product teams.
- Implement and maintain cloud, networking and CI/CD best practices for data storage services.
- Automate database provisioning and collaborate with product teams to ensure operational efficiency.
- Maintain observability (metrics, logs, traces) and work towards meeting SLOs and availability targets.
- Participate in on-call rotations, incident response and continuous post-incident improvement.
- Contribute to documentation, runbooks and the team roadmap with code and infrastructure changes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience maintaining cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and services like RDS/S3.
- Practical knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and operational data storage practices.
- Experience with container tooling and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation or equivalent).
- Programming/scripting skills (Python preferred) and experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins).
- Understanding of cloud networking, security best practices and observability tooling (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
- Desirable: database internals, HA architectures, sharding/clustering and backend engineering background.
