Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and deliver global cross-asset trade processing services in phased releases.
- Implement core capabilities for trade capture, persistence, enrichment and distribution (real-time and on-demand).
- Build APIs and streaming interfaces consumed by other GMIT systems.
- Implement robust, testable Java services using frameworks such as Spring / Spring Boot and reactive tooling (Project Reactor / Spring WebFlux).
- Integrate and operate distributed messaging (JMS, Apache Pulsar, Solace) for reliable event flow.
- Work with relational databases (MS SQL Server) for trade storage and query patterns.
- Use Nomura DevOps practices to deploy to non-production and production environments; contribute to CI/CD, automated testing and observability.
- Provide system-level support and maintenance (non-1st-line), triage incidents and implement fixes/improvements.
- Collaborate across time zones with global teams and coordinate with other Global Markets technology groups.
- Contribute to tooling and enhancements that explore AI integration into development workflows and trade processing.
Requirements:
- Strong Java development skills with practical experience in building production services.
- Experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot; familiarity with reactive patterns (Project Reactor / Spring WebFlux) is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with distributed messaging technologies (JMS, Apache Pulsar or Solace) and event-driven architectures.
- Experience working with relational databases (MS SQL Server) and designing data persistence for trade systems.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, automated testing and cloud or container deployment patterns.
- Good communication skills and proven ability to work effectively in a global, multi-time-zone team.
- Beneficial: skills in JavaScript/React or Python and interest/experience in applying AI to development or operational tooling.
- Comfortable working in a financial services environment focused on production reliability and cross-team integration.
