Responsibilities:
- Design and implement core backend services that power dynamic electricity plans and a modular billing engine.
- Build and maintain a reliable accounting ledger and low-level energy-market communication protocols.
- Develop scalable APIs and background processing for billing, reconciliation, and payments.
- Drive technical decisions, set code quality standards, and mentor engineers to uphold a high technical bar.
- Ship production-ready features quickly and iterate in a fast-moving, ambiguous startup environment.
Requirements:
- 3–10+ years of backend engineering experience with strong TypeScript/Node.js skills.
- Solid PostgreSQL experience and familiarity with ORMs (experience with Drizzle is a plus).
- Understanding of distributed systems, scalability patterns, and maintainable service design.
- Experience integrating payments and billing flows (Stripe or similar).
- Familiarity with Next.js backend patterns (API routes/server components) is helpful.
- Strong CS fundamentals, excellent communication, ownership mindset, and comfort operating with ambiguity.
