Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a backend team focused on the checkout domain; guide career development and code quality.
- Define and drive architectural decisions for a scalable, high-availability checkout service (event-driven where applicable).
- Collaborate closely with Product, QA and Design to scope, plan and deliver new features and improvements.
- Ensure reliable delivery by owning CI/CD pipelines, observability and deployment practices (GitLab, Kubernetes/Helm, AWS).
- Promote best practices for backend engineering, testing, performance and security across the team.
- Evaluate and adopt modern tooling, including AI-assisted development where it improves productivity.
Requirements:
- 10+ years total experience with 5–6+ years in backend development and demonstrable leadership/mentoring experience.
- Deep experience with PHP 8+, frameworks such as Symfony and/or Laravel, and building scalable web services.
- Strong knowledge of MySQL, Redis and performance tuning for high-load systems.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, AWS and deployment pipelines (GitLab or similar).
- Excellent communication in English and a pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset.
- Nice to have: Golang experience and familiarity with Generative AI/GenAI tooling.
