Responsibilities:
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies and opportunities.
- Engineer and prepare high-quality feature sets and datasets for modeling.
- Build, train, tune and validate supervised and unsupervised models; apply statistical and probabilistic methods.
- Define evaluation metrics and validation strategies (cross-validation, overfitting analysis) and use experimentation tools.
- Implement MLOps basics: model versioning, registries, deployment lifecycle and monitoring.
- Query and analyze data with SQL and produce clear visualizations (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly or BI tools).
- Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with Data teams to integrate solutions.
- Take ownership of model quality, reliability and adaptation to changing requirements.
Requirements:
- 3+ years professional experience in data science or equivalent; degree in a quantitative field preferred.
- Strong Python skills and practical experience with machine learning frameworks (scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Proficiency in SQL and comfortable working with cloud ML platforms (Azure ML, SageMaker, Vertex AI).
- Familiarity with model management/experimentation tools (MLflow, Weights & Biases, Databricks ML).
- Solid grounding in statistics, hypothesis testing and evaluation methodologies.
- Ability to present technical results to non-technical audiences and work collaboratively across teams.
