Responsibilities:
- Partner with AI engineering teams to turn driving data (real and simulated) into actionable improvements for the Wayve AI Driver.
- Define, iterate on, and maintain performance metrics that organise engineering effort and measure progress toward product goals.
- Design and run experiments and targeted off-road measurements to validate product requirements and safety constraints.
- Investigate training and inference bottlenecks affecting functionality and performance; propose and validate fixes.
- Formulate hypotheses, run analyses to test them, and validate results with robust statistical methods.
- Summarise, visualise and present findings to influence prioritisation, strategy and engineering decisions across time zones.
Requirements:
- 3+ years in a Data Science role with hands-on experience delivering insights to engineering teams.
- Strong production-grade SQL skills for building and transforming large datasets.
- Practical experience designing and analysing real-world experiments (e.g., A/B tests) and evaluating test statistics.
- Solid statistical foundations (distribution selection, assumption checks, frequentist/Bayesian reasoning).
- Proficiency in Python or R and common libraries (pandas, sklearn, statsmodels, scipy, or equivalent R tooling).
- Strong data visualisation and communication skills; experience influencing product direction via evidence.
- Comfortable working asynchronously with cross-functional, distributed teams and prioritising actionable insight.
