Responsibilities:
- Design, build and operate AI-powered features end-to-end across frontend and backend (UI, APIs, microservices).
- Implement personalization, newsroom automation and generative journalism tools using modern web stacks.
- Lead special projects from prototype to production and influence technical direction and strategy.
- Manage infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines (cloud, containers) to ensure reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, editorial, engineering) and translate technical topics for stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers, perform code reviews and promote engineering best practices.

Requirements:
- 5+ years building modern web applications and distributed systems with full-stack ownership.
- Strong frontend experience (React or similar) and backend skills (Node.js, Python, Java or equivalent).
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS or similar), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps workflows.
- Practical interest or hands-on experience with AI/ML (LLMs, RAG, recommendation systems) and integration of models into products.
- Experience with CI/CD, microservices and production monitoring/observability.
- Strong communication, adaptable polyglot mindset and a bias for shipping value.
