Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices using Node.js and Nest.js.
- Implement third-party API integrations and new features from concept to production.
- Optimize performance and reliability for high-load systems.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code; apply TDD and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with frontend, QA, and product teams to deliver high-quality releases.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, deployment workflows, and CI/CD improvements.
- Troubleshoot production issues, monitor systems, and improve observability.
Requirements:
- 5+ years professional web development experience; 3+ years with Node.js and Nest.js.
- Strong JavaScript (ES6+) skills; experience with TypeScript preferred.
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, MySQL) and high-load systems.
- Proven experience with REST, GraphQL, and WebSockets.
- Familiarity with microservice architecture, automated testing (TDD), and code reviews.
- Practical experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Redis, and message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ).
- English proficiency (advanced) and ability to work on-site in Lisbon.
