Responsibilities:
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for the Recoveries backend team; lead engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
- Design, implement and operate backend systems for charged-off loan recovery, including batch and asynchronous workloads.
- Collaborate with product, design and analytics on feature ideation, technical constraints and trade-offs.
- Ensure operational stability: define monitoring, SLAs, on-call practices, backfills and failure handling.
- Raise and resolve project/process/technical risks; set and promote code review and design standards.
- Mentor teammates, provide feedback and help grow engineering talent on the team.

Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong backend experience with Python and/or Kotlin and cloud infra (AWS, Kubernetes, MySQL).
- Hands-on experience building and operating large-scale batch, scheduled jobs and asynchronous data pipelines.
- Familiarity shipping web apps (React/Vue) and integrating backend services with front-end UIs.
- Proven system design skills with focus on correctness, observability and failure recovery.
- Strong communication, ownership mindset and a track record of delivering production systems.
