Responsibilities:
- Design and implement backend services (primarily Kotlin) for a secure, real-time trading platform (crypto, stocks, ETFs, managed funds).
- Own features end-to-end: take concepts through development, testing, deployment and incident response.
- Build and maintain event-driven, distributed microservices (Kafka-driven) that meet performance and reliability targets.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers during discovery to align technical solutions with user value.
- Improve system design, observability and deployment pipelines; use GSDD time to prototype and share learnings with the team.

Requirements:
- Proven backend engineering experience delivering production services with high autonomy.
- Strong Kotlin skills and experience with distributed microservices and event-driven architectures (Kafka).
- Practical knowledge of cloud and container platforms (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker).
- Familiarity with observability/monitoring tooling (Datadog, ELK/OpenSearch, tracing/metrics).
- Comfortable handling incidents, unblocking stakeholders, and continuously improving processes; growth mindset and evidence-based approach to engineering decisions.
