Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain database platform solutions to improve reliability, security, and scalability.
- Apply cloud, networking, and CI/CD best practices to operate AWS-based data storage and database infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Product and Analytics teams to enable orchestration, access control, and metadata management.
- Deliver high-quality code and infrastructure (IaC) changes as part of the team roadmap.
- Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, troubleshooting, and post-incident improvements.
- Maintain and enhance observability (metrics, logs, traces) to meet SLOs and availability targets.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience with AWS and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and one programming language (Python preferred).
- Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins).
- Familiarity with dbt for transformations and Apache Airflow for orchestration.
- Knowledge of cloud networking and security practices and observability tooling (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
- Nice to have: database internals (replication/failover, sharding), backend engineering experience, familiarity with metadata platforms (OpenMetadata).
- Strong collaboration, ownership, and proactive problem-solving skills.
