DevOps Engineer (AWS) at Mayflower

Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve AWS infrastructure (EKS, RDS, MSK, ECR, ElastiCache, KMS, OpenSearch, Lambda, CloudFront, WAF) to ensure stability, DR readiness, upgrades, and key rotations.
- Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/OpenTofu/Terragrunt and Helm/Helmfile; create reusable modules and charts.
- Build, maintain, and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines; automate build, test, and deployment workflows.
- Collaborate daily with development teams on deployments, migrations, queries, and troubleshooting across testing and production environments.
- Configure and operate monitoring, metrics, and logging (Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics, OpenSearch); analyze alerts and logs.
- Implement automation for development, testing, and release processes to reduce manual work and risk.
- Contribute to security and compliance (PCI DSS) controls, perform tasks related to information security and access controls.
- Drive cost and performance optimizations for cloud services and CI/CD processes.
- Participate in on-call rotation for rare alert handling, support complex deployments, and assist onboarding of new DevOps engineers.
- Define technical epics, prepare tasks, and provide estimations.

Requirements:
- 3+ years of cloud infrastructure experience and 1+ year working with AWS.
- Strong Kubernetes expertise with a deep understanding of internals and the ability to deploy/operate clusters (EKS).
- Practical experience with Terraform/OpenTofu/Terragrunt and ability to author modules and manage lifecycles.
- Experience creating and maintaining Helm charts and Helmfile configurations.
- Hands-on experience with core AWS services: EKS, RDS, MSK, ECR, CloudFront, WAF, VPC, ALB, Security Groups, etc.
- Proven experience with GitLab CI/CD: building, maintaining, and troubleshooting pipelines.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging stacks (Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics, OpenSearch) and integrating them with Kubernetes workloads.
- Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Groovy) and solid Linux administration knowledge.
- Working knowledge of CDN/WAF concepts, gradle/npm/pnpm build tooling, and PCI DSS implications for infrastructure.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, ability to collaborate with developers, and readiness to participate in rare on-call duties.
