Engineering Manager - AI Engineering & AI Platform (m/f/x) at Scalable GmbH

Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a new AI Engineering & AI Platform team to productionize AI use cases at scale.
- Define technical direction for LLM integrations, backend services, agentic workflows and cloud-native architectures.
- Deliver end-to-end projects: scoping, implementation, rollout, monitoring, maintenance and cost control.
- Design and evolve internal AI platform capabilities: model access, MCP integrations, observability, governance and rate limiting.
- Collaborate with Data Science, Product, Security and Platform teams; establish best practices for reliability, security and maintainability.

Requirements:
- University degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Significant hands-on experience with backend engineering (Python preferred), cloud platforms (AWS) and IaC (Terraform).
- Experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or similar) and building CI/CD pipelines for AI systems.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills, with experience delivering production-grade services.
- Knowledge of observability, cost management, governance, data privacy and secure system design.
