Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow an engineering team delivering AI-enabled logistics products (pricing, booking, management).
- Own delivery: set priorities, ensure predictable shipping of high-quality software, and remove delivery blockers.
- Hire, coach, and develop engineers through feedback, career planning, and regular 1:1s; manage performance and hiring processes.
- Partner with Product to shape roadmaps, negotiate scope, and align technical trade-offs with business outcomes.
- Advance AI-led engineering practices: define guardrails for agent workflows, share best practices, and improve developer-AI collaboration.
- Stay technically engaged (~1 day/week) through architecture reviews, code reviews, and selective coding to guide decisions.
- Engage with customers (freight forwarders, airlines) to surface real user needs and inform product priorities.

Requirements:
- Proven experience managing software engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, and predictable delivery.
- Strong backend engineering background and architecture instincts with enough technical depth to influence design.
- Track record of shipping meaningful products to customers on schedule and managing scope/quality trade-offs.
- Familiarity with Python-based stacks (Flask, gRPC), PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, Kubernetes, and GCP is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, customer orientation, and experience operating in remote-first or distributed teams.
