Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering delivery with clear commitments, priorities, and quality standards.
- Coach and develop engineers through regular feedback, career conversations, and performance management.
- Own recruitment: set hiring bar, interview, and ensure successful onboarding.
- Partner with Product to define scope, set roadmaps, and protect teams from unnecessary scope creep.
- Advance AI-led engineering: implement guardrails, review practices, and agent workflows.
- Remain technically involved (~1 day/week) for architecture, code review, or focused engineering work.
- Work directly with customers to ensure engineering solves real logistics problems.
- Continuously refine delivery processes and remove operational bottlenecks using data.
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing software engineering teams, including hiring and performance management.
- Strong backend and architecture skills with the ability to influence technical decisions.
- Track record of delivering product features on schedule and to a high standard.
- Interest in integrating AI tools/agents into engineering processes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for distributed teams.
