Responsibilities:
- Own delivery outcomes: set clear expectations, ensure quality, and drive predictable releases.
- Lead and mentor engineers through regular coaching, career planning, and performance processes.
- Manage hiring and onboarding to grow a strong, well-rounded team.
- Work closely with Product to define roadmaps, scope work, and remove blockers.
- Improve AI-led engineering practices: establish guardrails, review standards, and agent workflows.
- Keep technical credibility with ~1 day/week of architecture input, code review, or hands-on work.
- Engage customers to validate problems and keep engineering aligned to user needs.
- Identify and remove operational bottlenecks using data and process improvements.
Requirements:
- Proven people management experience with hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Solid backend engineering and architecture experience.
- Demonstrated history of shipping products/features on time.
- Familiarity or strong interest in AI-assisted development and agent-driven workflows.
- Strong communication skills suited to distributed, remote-first teams.
