Responsibilities:
- Own technical strategy and architecture for European-facing features, ensuring fit within Toast’s platform.
- Design and deliver end-to-end solutions spanning UI, services, and data with a focus on long-term scale.
- Define and promote architectural best practices, coding standards, and API design across teams.
- Lead and mentor engineers, fostering technical growth, inclusivity, and high-quality delivery.
- Collaborate tightly with product, design, and cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize outcomes and trade-offs.
- Champion operational practices: observability, reliability, and efficient delivery pipelines.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a solid full-stack background.
- Strong experience with Java or Kotlin and proven ability to build complex, customer-facing systems.
- Proficient in modern web and API technologies (React, REST, GraphQL) and delivering cohesive end-to-end experiences.
- Demonstrated experience influencing cross-team platform initiatives and setting technical direction beyond a single team.
- Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases, cloud deployments, and system design principles.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentorship abilities.
