Responsibilities:
- Lead design, implementation and operation of platform services (Airflow, QuickSight, Data Export API, CubeJS).
- Architect resilient APIs and platform components with a focus on reliability, security and developer experience.
- Own deployments for serverless and containerised services (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, EKS) and optimise cost/performance.
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines and observable production systems.
- Drive platform automation, onboarding patterns and internal developer tooling to enable >25 product teams.
- Coach engineers, document standards and drive cross-team collaboration for data product adoption.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in data/platform engineering with strong Python skills; Golang experience preferred.
- Proven AWS experience and familiarity with serverless and container platforms (Lambda, ECS, EKS).
- Hands-on knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu or CDK) and CI/CD best practices.
- Experience operating orchestration tools (Airflow) and ensuring observability (metrics, tracing, logs).
- Strong API design skills, security awareness (auth/authorization) and performance optimisation experience.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams; platform-first mindset.
- Nice-to-have: experience with QuickSight or BI tools, background in platform engineering at scale.
