Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and optimise in-vehicle software running on ECUs following automotive best practices.
- Extend and improve fleet monitoring and diagnostic systems to track vehicle state and health.
- Define and implement communication interfaces (MQTT, SOME/IP) and networking configurations (TCP/IP, IPv6, VLAN, SOCKS proxy).
- Integrate SiL and HiL tests into CI/CD pipelines and support automated validation workflows.
- Collaborate with VW Group, vendors and partners to align on interfaces, tooling and hardware requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers, share expert knowledge and help shape development processes and quality standards.
- Contribute to compliance and homologation activities following ASPICE, ISO26262 and similar standards.
Requirements:
- University degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience in embedded/automotive software.
- Strong C++ (C++11/14+) skills and solid experience with Python and Bash for tooling and automation.
- Practical knowledge of MQTT, SOME/IP and embedded networking concepts (TCP/IP, IPv6, VLAN, proxies).
- Experience with SiL/HiL testing, integrating tests into CI/CD and automated validation frameworks.
- Background in high-reliability industries (automotive, aerospace, medical) and familiarity with ASPICE/ISO26262.
- Proactive, independent contributor who can lead initiatives, communicate with external stakeholders and work in agile cross-functional teams.
