Responsibilities:
- Design, build and maintain highly available microservices using Java and Spring Boot within an event-driven architecture.
- Apply domain-driven design to model correspondent banking and cash management capabilities (funding, holding, liquidity, FX exposure).
- Lead development of Kafka-based messaging flows and ensure reliable, resilient event processing.
- Architect and optimise PostgreSQL schemas and queries for performance and data integrity at scale.
- Collaborate with Product, Implementation, Solutions Engineering and Business Development to integrate partner systems and deliver partner-facing APIs.
- Participate in system design, code reviews, incident response, and capacity planning to improve reliability and scalability.
- Mentor junior engineers, share domain knowledge across teams, and champion best practices for testing, observability and deployment.
Requirements:
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot in production microservices environments.
- Practical experience with Kafka (or similar messaging) and designing event-driven systems.
- Solid knowledge of relational database design and optimisation (PostgreSQL preferred).
- Familiarity with domain-driven design, distributed systems patterns, and fault-tolerant architectures.
- Experience integrating with external partners/APIs and working across cross-functional teams.
- Good communication skills, product-oriented mindset, and experience mentoring or leading small engineering efforts.
- Comfortable with CI/CD, monitoring/observability tooling, automated testing and performance tuning.
