Responsibilities:
- Design, build and maintain highly available Java services using Spring Boot within a microservices architecture.
- Apply domain-driven design to model partner-facing payment and cash management domains.
- Lead development of event-driven systems using Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
- Architect and optimise relational schemas and queries for PostgreSQL to support scale and resilience.
- Integrate with partner systems and internal teams to deliver reliable partner onboarding and payment flows.
- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance and operational excellence (monitoring, alerting, runbooks).
- Participate in cross-team planning, code reviews, and champion engineering best practices and product quality.
- Mentor and grow junior engineers; drive knowledge sharing across the organisation.
Requirements:
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot in production microservices environments.
- Practical experience with Kafka (or similar), event-driven architectures and domain-driven design.
- Solid expertise designing and optimising PostgreSQL/relational databases for performance and scale.
- Experience integrating APIs and working with partner implementations and payment systems.
- Focus on high availability, resilience, testing and operational readiness.
- Product-minded, able to collaborate with product, solutions and business teams.
- Strong communication skills and experience mentoring engineers.
