Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable backend services that power billing, ledger, and market communication systems.
- Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into clear, maintainable architecture and data models.
- Own, operate, and evolve core platform components for reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Integrate payment and billing flows (e.g., Stripe) and ensure accounting accuracy across systems.
- Promote engineering best practices: code reviews, testing, documentation, and operational runbooks.
- Ship iteratively with a bias for action while maintaining high quality in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 3–10+ years of backend development experience with strong TypeScript/Node.js skills.
- Production experience with PostgreSQL and an ORM (e.g., Drizzle) and familiarity with Next.js backend components.
- Solid understanding of asynchronous patterns and distributed systems design.
- Experience integrating payments/billing systems (Stripe) and building reliable ledger-like services.
- Strong communication, ownership mindset, and ability to work on-site in Berlin (visa sponsorship available).
- Nice-to-have: experience with Temporal, energy/fintech/regulatory domains, and API-first or headless architectures.
