Backend Engineer - Lending at N26

Responsibilities:
- Own discovery, design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance of backend services in the Financial Empowerment domain.
- Build and operate microservices handling lending, deposits, savings and investment features.
- Work with product and cross-functional teams to prioritise deliverables and deliver iterative value.
- Share knowledge through team sessions and participate in innovation days (GSDD).
- Maintain production quality: automated tests, documentation, observability, and security best practices.

Requirements:
- Professional experience building production services with a JVM language and Spring Boot (Kotlin experience is a plus).
- Solid understanding of microservice architecture patterns and service-to-service communication.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (Postgres preferred).
- Familiarity with cloud-native operations (AWS preferred) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Pragmatic focus on testable, documented code and an ongoing attention to security.
- Strong bias for action, collaborative feedback culture, and willingness to stay current with technology trends.
