Responsibilities:
- Design and implement core backend services for billing, market communication and the accounting ledger using TypeScript/Node.js.
- Build APIs and server-side functionality with Next.js (API routes/server components) following async best practices.
- Work on distributed systems design, database schemas and scaling PostgreSQL with an ORM (Drizzle preferred).
- Ship features rapidly while maintaining code quality, documentation and observability; participate in reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Integrate payment/billing flows (Stripe) and collaborate with product, hardware and operations teams.
Requirements:
- 2–5 years backend experience with strong TypeScript and Node.js skills; asynchronous programming is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and an ORM (Drizzle preferred) and familiarity with Next.js backend patterns.
- Understanding of distributed systems, system design and reliability concerns at scale.
- C1+ English proficiency, ability to work on-site in Berlin and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Experience with Stripe integrations and a formal CS degree are nice-to-have but not required.
