Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement core backend systems that power billing engines, energy-market communication, and accounting ledgers.
- Design scalable, maintainable services with sound async patterns and distributed-systems considerations.
- Build and maintain APIs and data access layers using PostgreSQL and an ORM (Drizzle preferred).
- Drive engineering quality through code reviews, technical design, and operational excellence.
- Ship quickly and iteratively in a high-impact, fast-paced environment; respond to incidents and support production stability.
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js with solid asynchronous programming skills (dealbreaker).
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and an ORM (Drizzle preferred) and familiarity with Next.js backend patterns.
- Understanding of distributed systems, scalable architecture, and API design.
- C1+ English (written and verbal) and ability to work on-site in Berlin.
- Nice to have: Stripe integration experience, exposure to Temporal, Hono, and familiarity with energy-market protocols or accounting ledgers.
