Responsibilities:
- Design, build and operate the Database Platform to deliver scalable, secure and compliant data storage on AWS.
- Use IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure delivery and enforce best practices.
- Manage containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS), focusing on reliability and operational readiness.
- Implement and maintain orchestration (Apache Airflow) and data transformation (dbt) workflows in collaboration with Product & Analytics.
- Ensure platform observability (metrics, logs, traces) and meet SLOs; participate in on-call rotations and incident troubleshooting.
- Document solutions, share knowledge across teams, and contribute to roadmap execution via code and infrastructure improvements.
Requirements:
- Proven experience operating AWS-based infrastructure and production services.
- Strong skills with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) and familiarity with container lifecycle and deployment strategies.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform (or similar) and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD or Jenkins.
- Proficiency in Python (or equivalent) for automation, tooling and platform development.
- Experience with dbt and Apache Airflow for data transformation and orchestration.
- Knowledge of networking, security best practices and observability tooling (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
- Desirable: knowledge of database internals (HA, replication, sharding), backend engineering background, or familiarity with metadata platforms (OpenMetadata).
