Responsibilities:
- Recruit, mentor and grow an AI Engineering & AI Platform team to turn data science ideas into production services.
- Provide technical leadership for LLM integrations, backend systems, cloud infrastructure and Terraform-managed environments.
- Lead the full lifecycle of AI projects: ideation, scoping, implementation, rollout, monitoring and ongoing maintenance.
- Define platform capabilities for model access, MCP server integration, observability, governance, rate limiting and cost controls.
- Coordinate with Data Science, Product, Security and Platform teams to ensure secure, reliable and scalable AI deployments and engineering standards.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline and significant experience in software engineering leadership.
- Strong hands-on skills in Python, AWS, Terraform, CI/CD and scalable backend architecture.
- Familiarity with LLM APIs and patterns for reliable production usage, plus observability and governance for AI systems.
- Track record of building and developing engineering teams, driving cross-functional projects and shipping production services.
- Pragmatic understanding of operational concerns: security, cost management, rate limiting and maintainability.
