Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a new AI Engineering & AI Platform team, hiring, coaching and enabling autonomy and agile delivery.
- Define technical direction for LLM integrations, backend services, cloud-native architectures and agentic workflows.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of AI use cases: scoping, implementation, rollout, monitoring and maintenance.
- Architect and operate internal AI platform features: model access, MCP server integrations, observability, governance, rate limiting and cost controls.
- Collaborate with Data Science, Product, Security, Platform and business stakeholders to prioritise high-value AI initiatives and establish engineering best practices.
Requirements:
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and proven senior engineering/management experience.
- Strong technical background in Python, cloud (AWS), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), CI/CD and scalable backend systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of LLM APIs, model access patterns, observability and production reliability for AI systems.
- Experience leading teams, hiring, mentoring and driving cross-functional delivery in a product environment.
- Good understanding of governance, security, cost management and pragmatic trade-offs for production AI services.
