Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and scale core backend services for billing, payments, accounting ledgers, and market integrations.
- Architect maintainable data models and APIs using TypeScript/Node.js and PostgreSQL (Drizzle ORM preferred).
- Solve distributed-systems challenges: consistency, reliability, and performance at scale.
- Implement asynchronous workflows, job orchestration, and observability (e.g., Temporal or similar).
- Ship iteratively: take end-to-end ownership from design to production, monitoring, and incident response.
- Improve engineering standards: code quality, testing, deployment, and documentation.
Requirements:
- Strong backend experience with TypeScript (Node.js) and asynchronous programming patterns.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and an ORM (Drizzle or equivalent) for complex schemas and queries.
- Familiarity with Next.js server-side/backend features, API design, and scalable service architecture.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and engineering fundamentals.
- C1+ English proficiency and strong written/verbal communication.
- Nice to have: Stripe/payment integration experience, workflow orchestration (Temporal), Hono or similar frameworks, and background in energy/fintech or regulated domains.
- Ownership mindset, ability to work in a fast-paced early-stage environment, and focus on reliable, maintainable systems.
