Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor and grow an engineering team building the vertically integrated investment and banking platform.
- Set technical direction, share best practices and ensure high code quality, testing and delivery standards.
- Drive design and implementation of backend services (Java/Kotlin) for cloud and event-driven architectures.
- Collaborate with Product, Design and Architecture to prioritise roadmap items and deliver business goals.
- Recruit and onboard engineers; foster autonomous, self-organising teams.
- Manage team capacity, plan releases and remove blockers to keep delivery predictable.
- Promote a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and strong cross-functional communication.
Requirements:
- University degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent, or comparable qualification.
- Hands-on experience as a backend engineer (Java/Kotlin) building cloud-native or event-driven systems.
- Deep understanding of distributed architectures, RESTful API design and software development processes.
- Proven leadership/people management skills and a passion for developing others.
- Strong ownership mentality, analytical thinking and excellent communication skills.
- Experience with modern CI/CD, observability and cloud infrastructure is desirable.
