Responsibilities:
- Lead a geographically distributed engineering team building AI-enabled logistics platform features.
- Ensure teams deliver high-quality software predictably: prioritize work, remove blockers, and improve delivery processes.
- Hire, coach, and develop engineers; run interviews, set hiring bar, and support onboarding and career growth.
- Collaborate closely with Product to define roadmaps, negotiate scope, and translate customer problems into technical plans.
- Improve AI-led engineering workflows: establish guardrails, review standards, and practices that let engineers safely leverage AI agents.
- Stay technically involved (approx. 1 day/week) through architecture discussions, design reviews, and targeted implementation.
- Work with customers to validate assumptions and align engineering outcomes with real-world logistics needs.
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing software engineering teams with a focus on people development and delivery.
- Strong backend engineering experience with architecture judgment and the ability to contribute technically.
- Demonstrated success shipping products or features on schedule and iterating based on customer feedback.
- Familiarity with Python, Flask, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, Kubernetes and cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
- Effective communicator, comfortable working in a remote-first environment and engaging directly with customers and stakeholders.
