Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and operate production LLM features that integrate with customer-facing products and internal workflows.
- Build backend services, APIs, and integrations to expose AI capabilities to product surfaces.
- Implement and operationalize RAG, embeddings, vector search, agentic systems, and tool calling in production.
- Rapidly prototype and validate ideas, then harden successful experiments for long-term maintainability.
- Create reusable components and engineering patterns to speed development and reduce technical debt.
- Define and run evaluation, observability, monitoring, and feedback processes for AI features.
- Track and optimize model quality, latency, reliability, scalability, and inference cost; respond to production incidents.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, ML, and Engineering on architecture and trade-offs.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable track record of shipping LLM-powered applications or features to production.
- Hands-on experience with RAG, embeddings, vector search, agents, LLM APIs, orchestration, and tool calling.
- Strong backend engineering skills (Python/Node.js), API design experience, and familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Docker).
- Knowledge of production considerations for LLMs: evaluation, observability, failure modes, latency, reliability, and cost management.
- Experience with CI/CD, monitoring, telemetry, and scalable distributed systems.
- Strong communication and product-focused engineering approach.
