Responsibilities:
- Develop low-latency, high-throughput backend services (Go preferred) for map-matching, ETA and routing workflows.
- Process and clean high-volume geospatial streams; implement algorithms for noisy GPS, road-matching and routing.
- Build microservices and help migrate legacy components to a scalable map/data platform running on AWS/Kubernetes.
- Partner with product, data science and operations to validate models, measure accuracy and iterate on improvements.
- Ensure services meet performance and reliability targets under production load; contribute to monitoring and alerting.
Requirements:
- 3+ years backend engineering experience (5+ for senior) building scalable services; strong systems fundamentals.
- At least 1 year hands-on experience with mapping-related problems: geospatial data processing, map-matching or routing graphs.
- Proficiency with databases (Postgres, MongoDB, Redis) and message systems (RabbitMQ/Kafka), plus familiarity with gRPC/Thrift.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes and infra tooling (Terraform) for production deployments.
- Helpful: C++ experience, exposure to OSRM or routing engines, and familiarity with OpenStreetMap data.
