Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot (3+).
- Build and maintain REST APIs with an API-first approach and OpenAPI specifications.
- Apply clean architecture and design patterns to produce maintainable, testable code.
- Optimize persistence and data models using Hibernate/JPA and propose improvements.
- Identify technical debt, propose sustainable refactors and raise engineering standards.
- Collaborate with frontend and cross-functional teams to deliver clear, documented APIs.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience developing backend applications in Java.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot (v3+) and building RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Hibernate/JPA, data modeling and performance considerations.
- Solid understanding of software design patterns, clean architecture and API-first practices.
- Proactive mindset, attention to code quality and ability to constructively challenge solutions.
- Good English and Spanish communication skills for collaboration and documentation.
