Responsibilities:
- Design and implement low-latency, high-throughput Rust services that process time-sensitive financial data.
- Build and maintain streaming pipelines for real-time inputs, event processing and feedback loops.
- Implement robust, testable financial logic with strong correctness and observability guarantees.
- Profile and optimise CPU, memory and network performance; apply benchmarking and performance testing.
- Collaborate on API design, data models and distributed system architecture with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure production reliability: monitoring, alerting, fault tolerance and clear documentation.
Requirements:
- University degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong Rust expertise (ownership, lifetimes, concurrency, async, error handling) and production experience.
- Proven experience with Docker, AWS and infrastructure as code (Terraform) in production systems.
- Deep systems thinking: latency, throughput, backpressure and failure modes in distributed environments.
- Experience building low-latency, high-performance services and streaming/event-driven pipelines.
- Clear communicator, strong analytical skills and a passion for well-architected, testable and documented code.
- Bonus: experience with domain-driven design, AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Codex) or financial services domain knowledge.
