Responsibilities:
- Design, build and operate the company’s database and data storage platform, focusing on reliability, security and scalability.
- Implement and maintain IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation) and provisioning workflows for databases and storage.
- Run and manage containerized services on Kubernetes/EKS and Docker.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins).
- Maintain observability (metrics, logs, traces) to ensure platform SLOs and fast incident detection.
- Participate in on-call rotations and lead troubleshooting and post-incident remediation.
- Work cross-functionally with product teams to enable self-service database provisioning and operational readiness.
- Document patterns, controls and runbooks; contribute to roadmap delivery.
Requirements:
- Proven AWS experience managing production cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and managed services (Amazon RDS) and object storage (S3).
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS in production settings.
- Strong Terraform or CloudFormation skills for IaC.
- Programming/scripting skills (Python preferred) for automation and tooling.
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems and deployment automation.
- Knowledge of cloud networking, security best practices and observability tools (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Nice to have: deep database internals (performance tuning, HA, replication, sharding) and backend engineering background.
