Responsibilities:
- Write high-quality, performant backend services (primarily Go) for the Marketplace stack.
- Design and implement microservices, helping migrate and integrate legacy Ruby systems where needed.
- Optimise services for low latency and reliability under heavy load; own performance tuning and capacity considerations.
- Collaborate with product, design and data science to translate requirements into technical designs and tests.
- Use AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform for deployment and operations; integrate message brokers, databases and RPC frameworks.
- Follow TDD/CI practices, participate in code reviews and handle incident response and runbooks.

Requirements:
- 3+ years experience building scalable backend services (5+ years for senior candidates).
- Strong engineering fundamentals; Go preferred but candidates with solid experience in Python, Java, C++, Ruby, etc. will be considered.
- Proven experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis and message brokers like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Familiarity with gRPC/Thrift, AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform; experience with TDD and CI/CD workflows.
- Strong system-design, testing and debugging skills with focus on latency and reliability.
