About the role

Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain high-quality, performant backend services (primarily in Go).
- Develop new microservices and help migrate or decommission legacy systems responsibly.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers and data scientists to turn requirements into reliable technical designs.
- Ensure system responsiveness and reliability at scale; optimise for latency and throughput under heavy load.
- Follow TDD/DDD practices and participate in CI/CD pipelines, code reviews and operational runbooks.

Requirements:
- 3+ years of backend experience (5+ years for senior roles) building scalable services; strong engineering fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Go preferred; candidates familiar with Python, C++, Java, Ruby etc. will be assessed on fundamentals.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) and message brokers (RabbitMQ/Kafka).
- Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes and infrastructure as code (Terraform) and modern CI/CD workflows.
- Good system design, testing and debugging skills; ability to work in a fast-moving, product-focused team.
