Responsibilities:
- Design, build and operate distributed, cloud-native backend services for high-throughput, low-latency AI-driven features.
- Own end-to-end delivery: design, implementation, deployment, monitoring and incident resolution for major backend components.
- Architect real-time APIs and conversational backends, integrating LLMs and streaming platforms as required.
- Implement cloud infrastructure patterns on AWS: containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS), and scalable deployments.
- Ensure reliability: observability, fault tolerance, autoscaling, backup/restore and DR strategies for production services.
- Collaborate with product, infra, ML and security teams to align technical direction and implement integrations.
- Mentor engineers, lead technical discussions, and drive backend best practices and code quality.
Requirements:
- 8+ years professional backend engineering experience with significant ownership of production systems.
- Strong proficiency in modern Java (17+) and proven experience building cloud-native services.
- Experience with distributed systems and messaging (Kafka), in-memory stores (Redis) and real-time processing.
- Hands-on with AWS, Docker and Kubernetes/ECS, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Familiarity with LLM integration patterns, prompting, observability and evaluation techniques.
- Solid knowledge of high-availability, resiliency patterns, monitoring and incident response.
- Excellent communication, cross-team collaboration and technical leadership skills.
