Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable Python microservices (FastAPI/Django) within a distributed architecture.
- Build and optimise high-throughput backend systems for performance, reliability and scalability.
- Integrate and manage third-party APIs, payment providers and external services.
- Architect and deploy solutions using AWS (including Lambda) and container platforms (Docker).
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines (GitLab), run code reviews and enforce engineering standards.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, diagnose bottlenecks and drive resilience improvements.
- Contribute to technical design decisions, mentor engineers and share best practices.
Requirements:
- 5+ years backend engineering experience with strong Python expertise.
- Proven experience building and scaling microservices and high-load systems.
- Hands-on with FastAPI or Django, Docker and CI/CD (GitLab preferred).
- Experience with AWS services (Lambda, other serverless/infra) and cloud deployments.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka/messaging) and API integration.
- Strong problem-solving, communication skills and experience in fintech/payments desirable.
- Willingness to relocate; ability to work onsite under employment/relocation support.
