Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable Python microservices within a distributed architecture.
- Build and optimize high-performance backend systems to operate reliably under high load.
- Integrate and manage third‑party APIs and external services.
- Architect and deploy solutions using AWS services (including Lambda) and container platforms.
- Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes (GitLab preferred) in collaboration with DevOps.
- Lead and participate in code reviews; drive engineering best practices and documentation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex production issues; identify and remove system bottlenecks.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical discussions and system design decisions.
Requirements:
- 5+ years backend engineering experience with strong Python skills.
- Proven experience designing and scaling microservices (FastAPI or Django preferred).
- Hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda and cloud infra), Docker, and container orchestration.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (GitLab) and production deployment practices.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, high-throughput environments, performance tuning and observability.
- Experience integrating third‑party APIs and working with event‑driven architectures (Kafka or messaging systems) is preferred.
- Background in fintech/payments or other regulated, high‑throughput systems is a plus.
- Strong problem solving, communication skills, and ability to work in a remote‑first environment.
