Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain scalable Python microservices (FastAPI/Django) in a distributed environment.
- Optimize backend performance and reliability to meet high-throughput and low-latency requirements.
- Integrate with third-party APIs and external services; ensure robust error handling and observability.
- Architect and deploy solutions using AWS services (including Lambda) and collaborate on cloud infrastructure decisions.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and participate in release processes (GitLab preferred).
- Lead code reviews, diagnose production incidents, and implement long-term fixes and improvements.
- Provide technical guidance, participate in architecture discussions, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with strong Python skills.
- Practical experience designing and scaling microservices for high-load systems.
- Proficiency with FastAPI or Django, Docker, and containerization best practices.
- Experience with AWS (Lambda and related services) and building CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred).
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, performance tuning, and troubleshooting production issues.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka/messaging) and fintech/payments domains.
- Strong communication skills and experience working in remote-first teams.
