Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and operate distributed voice AI systems (call scheduling, concurrency, retries, provider limits, failure recovery).
- Build retrieval-augmented generation, dynamic LM routing, and pipelines for evaluating new transcription systems.
- Extend agents across voice and other channels, preserving shared context between real-time and asynchronous interactions.
- Implement memory and reasoning components to retain context across customer workflows.
- Create tools for agent configuration, diagnostics, and integrations with CRMs, calendars, and email.
- Improve tracing, observability, and incident workflows to reduce time-to-resolution in production.
Requirements:
- Proven production experience building and owning distributed systems and customer-facing services.
- Strong backend skills in Python/FastAPI or TypeScript and experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar stores.
- Experience with real-time audio, voice infrastructure, or telephony systems and their operational challenges.
- Familiarity with LLMs/AI agents in production, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), and observability tools (OpenTelemetry etc.).
- Useful experience with LiveKit, Temporal, message queues, and modern stacks (Node.js/Bun) is a plus.
- Independent, action-oriented, good product judgment, and focus on reliability and business outcomes.
