Responsibilities:
- Lead backend engineering teams responsible for multiple products and own the delivery and technical direction of the platform.
- Manage, mentor and evaluate team leads and senior engineers via regular 1:1s, feedback cycles and individual development plans.
- Run or support Agile processes and ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban); plan resources, balance workloads and coordinate rotations to sustain delivery.
- Define and enforce engineering standards, document domain knowledge, and drive reductions in technical debt and recurring issues.
- Guide architecture reviews, promote modern technologies and improvements in reliability, performance and scalability.
- Represent engineering in cross‑team initiatives and drive organization‑level engineering improvements.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of backend development experience and 5+ years managing engineers or team leads.
- Proven experience with Kubernetes, containers, cloud platforms, microservices and distributed/high‑load systems.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, RESTful APIs, message brokers and CI/CD practices.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, system and infrastructure design.
- Demonstrated hiring, onboarding, performance management and technical leadership skills.
