About the role
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs using TypeScript and Node.js (serverless or server-based).
- Model and access data efficiently with PostgreSQL and an ORM; write performant database queries and migrations.
- Build Next.js backend services (API routes or server components) and integrate them into the platform.
- Implement payment and billing flows, ensuring security and reliability in transaction handling.
- Collaborate on distributed systems design to ensure scalability, observability and maintainability.
- Own features end-to-end: specification, development, testing, deployment and monitoring in production.
Requirements:
- 3+ years experience building backend infrastructure with TypeScript and Node.js.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL and ORM-based data access patterns.
- Experience with Next.js backend capabilities (API routes or server components).
- Strong asynchronous programming skills and solid CS fundamentals (degree or equivalent experience).
- Practical understanding of distributed systems, scalability and production-grade observability.
- Experience integrating payments/billing and working in early-stage startup environments with strong ownership.
