Responsibilities:
- Lead design, implementation, deployment and maintenance of resilient, scalable backend services used by restaurants and cloud components.
- Drive internationalization and fiscalisation support across backend services and data management systems.
- Orchestrate cross-service integrations, messaging, and multi-threaded components to ensure high availability.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers; lead technical discussions and shape engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with pilot customers and cross-functional teams (product, ops) to validate solutions in production.
- Apply and promote AI tools to improve developer productivity and technical innovation.
- Participate in hybrid on-site collaboration (Dublin office, ~2 days/week) and support relocation as required.
Requirements:
- 8+ years delivering production services in Java, Kotlin, or other OOP languages.
- Proven experience architecting, supporting, and debugging large distributed and multi-threaded systems.
- Strong understanding of API design, data persistence (Postgres/DynamoDB), messaging (Pulsar/Camel/RabbitMQ) and cloud patterns.
- Hands-on mindset: willing to work across the stack and help engineers resolve complex issues.
- Product-oriented approach with focus on reliability, observability, and customer impact.
- Experience with internationalisation or fiscalisation is a plus.
- Comfortable working in agile teams and mentoring others to raise technical standards.
